Strictly Come Dancing's Debbie McGee has spoken out about her relationship with Giovanni Pernice.
The favourite to win has lifted the lid on rumours of an unlikely romance between the pair.
And she's made clear that the rumours are just that.
Debbie insisted: “People want me to be in a relationship with him and I’m really sorry to disappoint them.”
She told The Sun on Sunday newspaper: “For a woman of my age it’s very flattering that people think there might be a romance. I do have a little chuckle to myself. We have the greatest working partnership and do have chemistry.
“We are great mates and I think that’s probably more special than if there was anything else going on.”
Opening up previously about their "special friendship", Debbie said:: “We have a very special friendship. People see us dancing these sexy routines and then we are pictured having lunch together so assume something must be going on.
“The truth is we really like each other but it isn’t a love affair. We love each other, but we are not in love with each other. It’s just one of those very special friendships. He’s 30 years younger then me!”
Speaking to the Daily Mirror newspaper, Giovanni said of their relationship: "I've got the winning partner, not just in this competition, but for the rest of my life."
He added: "Debbie has to be the best person I've met in this country so far. She is just amazing."
Strictly Come Dancing returns tonight on BBC One at 7:15PM with the latest results.
