Dancing On Ice 2019 presenter Holly Willoughby would "love" to take to the rink herself

Host up for doing a special dance - if she could do it justice

Dancing On Ice 2019 presenter Holly Willoughby has revealed she'd "love" to don her skates for a performance on the show - but only if she could do it "properly".

Phillip Schofield previously took to the rink for a special routine in the 2014 series of ITV contest, alongside then co-host Christine Bleakley.

Now his telly wife Holly wants to follow in his footsteps, as long as she gets enough practise to do it justice.

Asked if she fances a turn on the ice, Holly said: "Do you know...I would!

"I’d absolutely love to learn to do it, but it’s finding the time to do it properly. You can’t just go and have a one-hour lesson. Phil really committed to that!

"In his head he thought was going really fast, but then he watched it back and he said he was really slow. I thought he did amazingly!"

It wouldn't be the first time Holly has got involved in a show she hosts.

Earlier this month, the much-loved star ended her guest stint hosting I'm A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! by completing its iconic Celebrity Cyclone challenge.

Now back from the Australian jungle, Holly is gearing up to introduce the latest batch of Dancing On Ice hopefuls to the nation.

She reckons the show is the perfect way for viewers to get over the post-Christmas blues.

"It’s a lovely show because January is like a really cold, dull month," she commented. "It just suddenly explodes with sequins, glitter and magic on to your TV screen.

"I just think it’s what everyone needs after Christmas is over. It's full of excitement and magic but also a whole lot of danger, so it’ll really keep you on the edge of your seat!"

Tonight ITV confirmed the six celebs who will appear on the first episode of the new series.

Grease star Didi Conn, reality favourite Gemma Collins and pro dancer James Jordan will all compete in week one.

They're up against Coronation Street actress Jane Danson, Neighbours actor Mark Little and pop queen Saara Aalto.

The remaining six contestants will make their ice debuts a week later in episode two.

Dancing On Ice 2019 launches on Sunday 6th January at 6.00pm on ITV.
