Britain’s Got Talent: The Champions continued this weekend – here are all the performances and results from the third episode.
The new series welcomes back acts from the past 13 years of BGT to go head to head in a bid to be crowned ultimate champion.
But they’re not alone, going up against contestants from across the world as well as each other.
Across the first five episodes, nine acts will take to the stage each Saturday night and two will make it through to the grand final.
In the third heat tonight (September 14), the results saw dance duo Paddy and Nico and illusionist Darcy Oake make it through.
Paddy and Nico won the latest golden buzzer of the series from David Walliams while Darcy Oake won the superfan audience vote. Both will go through to the final.
They join last week’s heats winners – German dog act Alexa Lauenburger and dancers MerseyGirls – together with the first heat winners, Ukrainian sand performance artist Kseniya Simonova and daredevil duo Bello and Annaliese Nock.
Here’s a recap of tonight’s second round of performances below…
Opening this week’s third heat was 2016 winning magician Richard Jones. In this week’s episode, he left the judges speechless with an amazing trick all about memories in tribute to fellow military magician Fergus Anckorn who passed away aged 99 last year. Simon Cowell said: “What defines a champion is somebody who has won but who has the confidence to come back and defend what they’ve won. You showed us why you won the show and it’s an honour to have you back.”
Arriving from Lebanon, Mayyas are a group of more than 30 all female dancers who previously won Arabs Got Talent earlier in 2019. Their Britian’s Got Talent: Champions performance proved a hit with the judges, with David describing it as “absolutely magical”.
DJ Arch Jr
Arch Jr from South Africa is a 7-year-old DJ who won South Africa’s Got Talent in 2015. Appearing on Britain’s Got Talent: The Champions, the youngster provided a fun performance that even had the judges dancing. Amanda said: “You got everybody at Wembley Arena up on their feet. your music choices were fantastic, you’re fantastic, it was an amazing set.”
Comedian Jack made the live final of BGT in 2013 when he was 14. He was back for The Champions series this evening with jokes about clubbing, football, skiing and the judges! Simon said: “It’s fantastic to have you back. You have this wicked sense of humour and the more you tear into us the more we love you for some reason.”
Paddy & Nico (GOLDEN BUZZER)
Salsa dancers Paddy & Nico won the golden buzzer on Britain’s Got Talent in 2014. Returning to the stage tonight, 85-year-old Paddy and 45-year-old Nico showcase an energetic routine that saw them get ANOTHER golden buzzer, this time from David. He said: “There are very few acts you can watch with a smile on your face and tears in your eyes because this is one of the most joyous, beautiful, life affirming acts we’ve ever had on Britain’s Got Talent.”
Richard and Adam
Welsh singing duo Richard and Adam first rose to fame on BGT in 2013 where they finished third. They subsequently signed a record deal, releasing a hit number one album. Returning to the stage tonight, they performed The Power Of Love with Alesha saying: “It was a very polished, professional performance. It was a lovely performance.”
Hip Hop dance group The Fire won Holland’s Got Talent in 2017. Appearing on BGT’s The Champions tonight, the group performed a non-stop routine to Chandelier by Sia that Amanda loved but Simon felt “lacked imagination”, complaining: “This, I’ve seen a million times.”
Darcy Oake (SUPERFAN VOTE WINNER)
Canadian illusionist Darcy Oake made the final of Britain’s Got Talent in 2014 where he stunned the judges with tricks involving doves. Returning to BGT this weekend, Darcy’s latest ridiculous daredevil trick saw him attempt to escape from a padlocked box which was hoisted above the stage and primed to explode within 60 seconds. “What the hell?!” reacted Ant.
Closing this weekend’s heat was rock opera singer Cristina Ramos from Gran Canaria who won Spain’s Got Talent in 2016. Appearing on the British all stars show this weekend, Cristina performed a cover of The Show Must Go On by Queen. “What a showstopping moment, you go girl,” praised Alesha.
