When does The Circle start? Emma Willis films new promo ahead of September launch

The Circle has revealed a first look at its second series – including a revamped logo and promo trailer with new host Emma Willis.

The social-media themed reality show will be back on Channel 4 in the autumn – and this year it’s bigger and better.

Once again, contestants will reside separately in their own apartments, with cameras watching their every move.

The sole way they can communicate with each other is through the titular Circle, a voice-activated social network.

Their aim is to become the most popular member – either by being themselves, or constructing false online personas.

Only when someone is ‘blocked’ and eliminated from the show do other contestants meet them in person – and find out if they were genuine or not.

Bosses have already announced big changes for series two, including a longer run, weekly live shows and an increased £100,000 prize fund.

Now fresh teasers have given fans another taste of what to expect – beginning with a redesigned logo and first trailer, below.

A post on The Circle’s Instagram Story invited users to vote on whether they wanted to install ‘Circle OS2’.

After 81% chose ‘yes’, the motif was revealed – and it’s a lot livelier than last year’s pink-and-teal effort.

The new Circle comes with a variety of animations, including spikes, polka dots and Siri-style waves.

Meanwhile, Emma Willis is taking over presenting duties, having bid farewell to the now-axed Big Brother.

Living up to the ‘anyone can be anyone’ tagline, a clip posted on Channel 4’s Instagram suggests she isn’t immune to a bit of fakery.

Filmed at a promo shoot, it shows Emma dressing up in an uncharacteristic long blonde wig (main image).

As if all that wasn’t enough, The Circle is even moving its base from London to Manchester.

While we’re yet to get an official look at the contestants’ pads, locals have spotted the new apartment block.

A ring of lights again decorates the building, with one Twitter user posting a pic showing it illuminated at nighttime.

The Manchester location will also host international adaptations of the show. Netflix is currently preparing to launch local versions in Brazil, France and the US.

The Circle series two will air on Channel 4 from September.
