Seann Walsh ‘banned from Strictly Come Dancing tour over Katya Jones kiss scandal’

BBC chiefs have reportedly ‘banned’ Seann Walsh from participating in the Strictly Come Dancing 2019 live tour over his kiss with Katya Jones.

Contestant Seann was recently at the centre of a tabloid storm after he was pictured snogging Katya, his professional partner – despite both being in relationships.

Katya is married to fellow Strictly dancer Neil Jones, while Seann was dating Rebecca Humphries, who has since dumped him.

At the time, both issued grovelling apologies and made a sombre appearance on spin-off show It Takes Two.

However, it didn’t stop the issue becoming a major controversy – and now it may have cost Seann a lucrative gig.

The Sun claims that the BBC has ‘banned’ Seann from joining next year’s nationwide Strictly tour for bringing the show into “disrepute”.

According to the newspaper, it is the first time ever that a celebrity contestant has not been offered a place on the tour.

“The Strictly tour is a really wholesome, family-friendly event,” The Sun’s source commented.

“It’s all about good, clean fun and we don’t think that a man who snogs married women in the street fits that image.”

A separate insider added: “Strictly has always been proud of its family-friendly image.

“Seann brought the show into disrepute with his behaviour.”

Seann’s agent denied the report, insisting he hadn’t been banned from the tour.

The comedian’s rep said he’s not participating as he’ll instead be rehearsing his own stand-up tour, ‘After This One, I’m Going Home’.

“He was never confirmed to do the tour, so not banned,” Seann’s agent told The Metro.

“He’ll be preparing for his own UK stand up tour, which starts in March, during Jan and Feb next year.”
