James ‘Arg’ Argent returns to rehab and ‘will the miss start of TOWIE’

The Only Way Is Essex star James ‘Arg’ Argent has returned to rehab.

It follows his split from on-off girlfriend Gemma Collins.

In a statement provided to the Daily Mirror, Arg said: “It’s not been an easy time but I’m happy to be back in a programme that gives me the ongoing support I need.

“I’m thankful for the incredible support I have received from my family, close friends and colleagues.”

According to reports, Arg will miss the start of the new series of TOWIE.

A source told The Sun newspaper: “James was under a dark cloud recently and has made the brave decision to enter back into a programme to help him get back on track […].

“James told his family and friends he wouldn’t be starting filming with this series of Towie.

“He’s being supported by the show’s producers who have agreed he needs to take time out to focus on himself.”

Arg and Gemma’s turbulent relationship has played out on TOWIE over many years now.

In the latest series they got together again – only to reportedly split last month.

Gemma, who is set to star in her own reality show Diva Espana, told The Sun newspaper: “It’s been an incredibly difficult summer.

“But, that said, you know, we’re back now in Essex and Arg is receiving help and you know, as long as he’s doing well, that’s great for him and for us.

“I’m just supporting him on his journey and I’m feeling pleased that the viewers get to see what goes on behind the cameras and I think it’s good for them to see that behind all the glamour there’s real ups and downs, even in celebrities’ lives.”
