The Real Marigold Hotel cast for Series 3: Meet the celebritiesThe Real Marigold Hotel line up 2018
The cast of celebrities taking part in Series 3 of The Real Marigold Hotel on BBC One in 2018 have been revealed.
The Real Marigold Hotel follows nine celebs as they head to India on an experimental adventure. The fourth and final episode airs tonight at 9PM on BBC One.
The familiar faces taking part include comedian Syd Little; TV presenter and journalist Selina Scott; actress Stephanie Beacham; Grand National winning jockey Bob Champion and writer and former politician Stanley Johnson.
Joining them are actress Susan George; Krankies double act Janette and Ian Tough; and Eastenders actor Peter Dean.
They’ll be road-testing retirement in Udaipur, in the western Indian state of Rajasthan for the third series of Real Marigold Hotel, to be shown on BBC One starting tonight.
Spreading around the shores of the idyllic Lake Pichola with a backdrop of majestic green hills, Udaipur is known as one of India’s most romantic cities. With its ornate turrets, balconied palaces and whitewashed havelis clustered around the waters of the lake, it is a destination ripe for exploring in retirement.
The group will take over a traditional Indian mansion on the banks of Lake Pichola. Once they’ve settled in, their mission will be to immerse themselves in life in the neighborhood and further afield; from learning the language to mastering the markets; taking overnight trains to coping with the hectic traffic.
Adjusting to the environment, the food, the customs and the climate will be a culture shock for our cast, as they leave routines and loved ones behind in the UK and adapt to living together. Will the challenges put them off or will they fall in love with India and its abundance of charm, stunning scenery and welcoming people?
David Clews, Creative Director, Twofour, said: “We’ve got a brilliant line up of famous faces checking into The Real Marigold Hotel. They’re a fabulous and funny mix of characters, honest and open about their personal stories, and all of them excited to explore what retirement has to offer in the vibrant and beautiful city of Udaipur.
“We’ve got our first married couple too, which adds a brand new dynamic. It’s going to be the best series yet.”
Clare Sillery, Head of Commissioning, Documentaries, added: “I’m delighted that we are heading back to India for a third series of Real Marigold Hotel. The magical combination of warmth and humour has struck real chord with audiences.
“India’s ability to genuinely move and transform the lives of those who are lucky enough to visit is never to be under estimated.”
The four-part series of The Real Marigold Hotel concludes tonight (August 22) on BBC One at 9PM.
