Piers Morgan to take part in Strictly Come Dancing this year?

Piers Morgan has suggested he could take part in Strictly Come Dancing 2018.

The former newspaper editor turned Good Morning Britain presenter says he’d be up for the challenge – on one condition.

Piers said he’d take part so long as his early morning TV ‘rival’ Dan Walker did as well.

Dan currently fronts BBC’s Breakfast show, airing at the same time as Piers on ITV.

Piers told the Daily Mirror newspaper: “I would seriously consider it if it meant giving Walker a lesson in how to dance in front of nine million people.”

An insider claimed that Strictly bosses were interested in getting both Piers and Dan on the show: “Piers and Dan make Twitter digs at each other.

“It caught the attention of Strictly bosses, who want to tap into this rivalry. They think it’d be a ratings hit.”

Neither would be the first breakfast TV presenters on the show: Last year saw Piers’ co-star Charlotte Hawkins take part while BBC’s Naga Munchetty competed in 2016’s series.

Piers’ potential starring Strictly role follows him turning down “lots of money” to take part in I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here.

He suggested no amount would get him in the jungle show, which airs on ITV in the autumn.

“I’ve been offered lots of money for these things, to go and eat bugs,” he said. “They say ‘hey, do you want to go to a jungle in Australia and eat kangaroo testicles as Ant and Dec mock you?’ – no thanks.”

Piers continued: “Why would I do that?

“Then they say they’d give X amount and you’re like ‘please, add a couple of noughts.

“So they do then you’re like ‘no thanks.'”

Meanwhile, Strictly’s 2018 series still has a while to go before launching, but a whole number of celebs have been linked to the series.

One of the names Strictly Come Dancing bosses are reportedly “desperate” to sign is X Factor star turned TV host Rylan Clark-Neal.

The Chase’s Mark Labbett has also been tipped to take part in Strictly Come Dancing alongside Actress Michelle Keegan.

Strictly Come Dancing will begin on BBC One in the autumn.

The line up is typically confirmed around August/September.
