Ordeal By Innocence cast and spoilers from BBC One’s new drama

Ordeal By Innocence starts tonight on BBC One but who’s on the cast and what’s it all about?

This TV adaption of Agatha Christie’s novel was originally due to air over Christmas but was delayed following allegations made against original cast member Ed Westwick.

Ed was eventually dropped from the cast, with his scenes reshot in January with Christian Cooke replacing Ed’s role of Mickey Argyll.

The all star cast sees Bill Nighy (Love Actually, Pirates Of The Caribbean) and Catherine Keener (Get Out, Capote) joined by Matthew Goode (The Good Wife, Downton Abbey), Eleanor Tomlinson (Poldark, Loving Vincent), Anthony Boyle (Harry Potter And The Cursed Child, Philip K. Dick’s Electric Dreams: The Commuter) and Luke Treadaway (Fortitude, A Street Cat Named Bob).

Also a part of the series are Morven Christie (The A Word, The Replacement), Crystal Clarke (Assassin’s Creed, Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens), Ella Purnell (Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children, Churchill) and Alice Eve (Star Trek Into Darkness, Black Mirror).

Adapted from Christie’s 1958 novel of the same title, Ordeal By Innocence will be directed by Sandra Goldbacher (Victoria, The Hour, Me Without You) and produced by Roopesh Parekh, (Poldark, And Then There Were None, The Hollow Crown).

In tonight’s episode, The Argyll children finally face up to the disastrous events that led to Rachel’s murder.

Everyone in the family had a reason to want Rachel dead, everyone has something to hide about that terrible Christmas Eve. Only by facing these secrets can the real identity of Rachel’s killer emerge. But Arthur’s assertion that he is telling the truth puts him in serious danger and there is a race against time to save him.

At Sunny Point, justice has fallen out of the hands of the law, and Leo and Gwenda’s wedding becomes a theatre of brutal revenge.
