Nadine Coyle calls Cheryl feud “fake news” on I’m A Celebrity

Nadine Coyle opened up about her time in Girls Aloud on tonight’s I’m A Celebrity.

I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here continued this evening (Wednesday, November 20) on ITV.

As the celebs got to know one another, Nadine, Adele Roberts and Jacqueline Jossa chatted by the Jungle creek and conversation soon turned to Girls Aloud.

Singer Nadine rose to fame in the girl group who were put together in Popstars: The Rivals back in 2002.

The five piece – made up of Nadine, Cheryl, Sarah Harding, Kimberley Walsh and Nicola Roberts – split in 2013 after a string of hit songs and albums.

Jacqueline asked Nadine what it was like being in a girl band.

Nadine said: “Really good, really good, I like being in a girl band.

“I am one of 3 sisters and went to an all-girls grammar school so I’m used to being around girls.”

Jacqueline asked Nadine if she got on with everyone in Girls Aloud, Nadine said “Yes.”

Jacqueline continued: “I’d heard you didn’t get on with Cheryl.”

But Nadine declared: “Fake news.”

Jacqueline then asked Adele if she’d ever played Girls Aloud on her radio show and Adele said “All the time, The Promise, a banger.”

Jacqueline, Nadine and Adele all started singing and dancing to The Promise before Adele joked if Nadine remembered all the words.

Although Nadine insisted she and Cheryl did get on, ahead of joining the jungle, the singer admitted they had not kept in touch since the group split.

She told the Daily Mirror newspaper: “I spoke to Sarah around the time of Big Brother but I haven’t seen or spoken to them since the end of Girls Aloud or just before I had my daughter.

“So that’s about six years ago. Sarah more recently at the start of Big Brother when she was very excited, but yeah I haven’t spoken to or seen any of them in about that long.”

Meanwhile, speaking about signing up for the show, Nadine said: “I really want to try something completely new. I am scared of so many things. I used to be brave.

“In the past, I’ve opened a restaurant, had a record label, had my daughter and it was go, go, go with all of these.

“Now I have got so fearful even being in the car, flying or general things. I think it is since I became a parent that I am much more afraid.

“I really hope that by doing this, it pushes me so far out the comfort zone and that I learn to be comfortable, feel relaxed and do the things that I didn’t used to be afraid of.”
