Dancing On Ice contestant Melody Thornton has revealed her fears ahead of this weekend’s show.
The Pussycat Doll singer will be taking to the ice for her first routine this Sunday.
After six contestants skated in last weekend’s opening show, it’s almost Melody’s time and she’s super nervous.
Confessing her fears, she said this week: “It ain’t a small deal you know. If something goes wrong, you lose your teeth. I definitely think that from time to time, ‘Okay, don’t lose your teeth, don’t lose your teeth’.
“But hopefully that doesn’t happen, touch wood.”
Meanwhile, Melody insisted she doesn’t have anywhere near as much dance experience as people think.
The American performer told the Daily Mirror that she has “never taken a dance class in my life” and was regularly hidden in Pussycat Doll’s videos for “making mistakes.”
Melody explained: “It’s not like anything I’ve ever done before so I have to have those moments where I surrender and say, ‘I don’t know what I’m doing’, and hope for the best, it’s all you can do.
“I’d never skated before. I am from Arizona, which is like the hottest city, it’s not one of those things that you’d do with family, no one is really used to the cold.
“I was pretty unsteady at first but I had to just tell myself to be patient. I think the big thing for me was to tell myself, ‘If you hurt yourself then you’re out’, so I really had to be patient and take my time learning all of the basics. It was crucial for me.”
Alongside Melody and her pro partner Alexander Demetriou, the other celeb skaters performing Sunday will be Loose Women Saira Khan and Mark Hanretty; singer Brian McFadden and Alex Murphy; cricketer Ryan Sidebottom and Brandee Malto; actor Richard Blackwood and Carlotta Edwards and Love Island’s Wes Nelson and Vanessa Bauer.
The couple with the lowest combined judges’ scores and viewer votes will face the first skate off the series.
Dancing On Ice 2019 airs Sunday nights on ITV.
