Matt Goss speaks out after Strictly Come Dancing exit

Matt Goss has spoken out after his exit from Strictly Come Dancing’s latest season.

It was the Bros frontman and pro partner Nadiya Bychkova who left Strictly this weekend, the third couple to be sent home.

Speaking after his departure, on It Takes Two, Matt had a message for Nadiya: “I really miss you Nadiya, I wish we could be going into the rehearsal studios, you are just an awesome human being and the most incredible teacher and I’m so blessed to have learned to dance with you.”

When asked about his highlight of being on Strictly, Matt said: “I loved the Viennese Waltz that Nadiya choreographed. It was actually the only time in the whole experience where dare I say I felt like I was a dancer and I could see Nadiya’s head moving and it was just very graceful and beautiful.

“I love the Viennese Waltz and that was my highlight of Strictly.”

When asked about their Strictly experience, Nadiya said “It’s not only about the dancing and the scores, there’s so much more to Strictly. It’s about what you learn along the way and I think Matt learned so many things.

“The way he felt shy and not comfortable doing something he’d never done before on that floor, and in four weeks, I saw so much improvement in him and I think he’ll learn how to get through that shyness and go on, that floor and shine, dancing. For me as a teacher and as his partner, that was the best thing to see and I’m glad that people at home got to see it.”

When asked about his reaction to Nadiya’s words at the end of the Results Show, Matt said: “I think when Nadiya said those lovely words I just broke and I couldn’t contain my emotion.

“It was so lovely, she’s become a great friend. I’ve come back from America and I couldn’t have been more in actually just trying to, you know, kickstart me and just saying Matt don’t hide.”

Matt is the third celeb to leave this year’s competition following Loose Women’s Kaye Adams and radio presenter Richie Anderson.

Following their exits, twelve celebs remain in the competition.

Names announced for Strictly Come Dancing line up include comedian & actor Jayde Adams, TV star Will Mellor, comedian Ellie Taylor and presenter & actress Kym Marsh.

They’re joined by TV presenter Helen Skelton, Animal Park presenter & cameraman Hamza Yassin, and football legend Tony Adams MBE.

Concluding this season’s cast are singer Fleur East, EastEnders star James Bye, Paralympian & broadcaster Ellie Simmonds OBE, TV and radio presenter Tyler West and singer Molly Rainford.

The series continues next weekend with a special BBC centenary themed edition.
