Martin Clunes’ BBC One comedy Warren is not set to return, its creator has said.
Created and written by Jimmy Donny Cosgrove and Paul McKenna, the original six part sitcom centred around the life of Warren Thompson, a pedantic driving instructor who thinks the world is against him.
Warren was played by Martin Clunes with further cast including Lisa Millett, Tim Preston, Oscar Morgan, Neil Edmond and Martine Brown.
When the show launched, Martin Clunes admitted he “didn’t want to do another sitcom” but found the script “just so funny that I didn’t want anyone else to do it.”
The first six-episode series went out on BBC One earlier this year but it’s not set to return.
Show creator and writer Jimmy Donny Cosgrove took to Twitter to share: “Today I bought the DVD of my very own TV series #Warren. Sadly, the BBC never bought the second series of my very own TV series #Warren but thems the breaks.”
He added: “Thanks to everyone who watched, supported, and encouraged. Hopefully this isn’t the end, but just the beginning. JDC x”
