Made In Chelsea’s Sam Thompson slams fame hungry Love Island couples

Made In Chelsea’s Sam Thompson has hit out at ‘fame hungry’ Love Island couples.

The long-time reality star reckons newbies to the scene are just in it for the cash.

With some Love Island couples getting engaged within months, Sam said: “They want the magazine deals, that’s what it’s all about. It’s all for the money.”

He told The Sun newspaper: “I believe the people who meet on the more established shows, they’re the ones that stick together. They’re trying to work towards something, they obviously care about each other a great deal.”

Sam previously said the stars of the ITV2 show needed to slow down.

Sam, who has been on E4’s Made In Chelsea for five years, suggested: “I do think with a lot of new shows, say like even Love Island, the people in these shows go from [highs to lows].”

He told the Metro newspaper: “We’re lucky, we’ve had a long experience of it, and then they come out and suddenly they’re famous and they’re racing to get the OK! magazine cover and this and that and they’re like, ‘Oh, we need to get married immediately! We need to get engaged. We need to have a baby.’

“Sorry? Poor baby, poor kid. Because, at the end of the day, they won’t be together so it’s just going to suck.

“They’re all pregnant and engaged and I think everyone just needs to slow the pace of life down.”

Sam’s comments are possibly aimed at Love Island’s Dominic Lever and Jessica Shears who last year announced their engagement – just weeks after meeting on the ITV2 show.

Sam himself recently found himself in reality romance after splitting from his long-term Made In Chelsea girlfriend Tiffany Watson.

He enjoyed a fling with X Factor singer Amelia Lily after they appeared on Celebrity Big Brother together.

But after a few dates, it all fizzled out.

Sam is currently appearing in Celebrity Ghost Hunt which airs on February 6 on 5Star.
