Love Island’s Wes Nelson ‘lined up for the Dancing On Ice 2019’

Love Island’s Wes Nelson is reportedly being lined up for the Dancing On Ice cast in 2019.

Wes made the final of this year’s series alongside girlfriend Megan Barton Hanson.

He could follow in the footsteps of Kem Cetinay, who won Love Island last year and took in Dancing On Ice in January.

“Wes has boundless energy and he’s already displayed great rhythm on Love Island, so Dancing On Ice execs thought he’d be a great choice for the series,” a source claimed this week. “He has a huge social media following and bosses know that a lot of Love Island fans will be desperate to see how he does.”

The insider added to The Sun newspaper: “It will be a viewing figure boost. He’s also a great sport so won’t mind donning sequinned costumes and showing off his body for votes.”

Meanwhile, according to other tabloid reports, ITV are also ‘desperate’ to get Love Island winner Dani Dyer on the cast and have offered a £100,000 fee.

“They are breaking the bank to get her on board. And they are hoping a six-figure deal will be enough to tempt her,” a source told the Daily Star.

Who ends up on the show remains to be seen, with the 2019 Dancing On Ice line up not confirmed until the end of the year.

It was X Factor singer Jake Quickenden who was crowned the winner of Dancing On Ice’s comeback series.

Confirming the show’s return for 2019, Siobhan Greene, Head of Entertainment Commissioning, ITV, said earlier this year: “The show’s welcome back has exceeded our expectations and it’s been fantastic to see the audience at home loving it. The recommission is a no brainer and it’s brilliant for everyone involved to know it’ll be back next year.”

Katie Rawcliffe, ITV Studios Creative Director, added: “All of us missed Dancing on Ice while the show was off screen and it seems all our viewers did too… our on screen changes have been brilliantly received and we’re looking forward to getting our skates on for series two.”

Dancing On Ice airs on ITV.
