Love Island 2017 winners Kem Cetinay and Amber Davies have spoken out after their split.
After 132 days together, the couple called it a day earlier this week just before Christmas.
“With sadness, we’ve decided to separate,” they said in a statement. “We fell in love in the villa and want to thank all the fans of the show for supporting us.
“Our schedules made it difficult. We’ll remain good friends.”
Amber and Kem won Series 3 of ITV2’s Love Island in the summer and ended up sharing the £50,000 prize fund.
The pair have since both spoken out on Twitter about their break up, and it seems pretty harmonious.
“It’s been a tough week, but I wanted to thank everybody who has been so kind and supportive, the messages have proper kept me going,” Kem tweeted.
“Unfortunately things didn’t work out but I know Amber will do amazing and I’ll always be proud of her,” he added.
Amber added on her own Twitter account: “Would just like to say I am incredibly overwhelmed by everyone’s lovely messages and comments.
“The love and support from you all has been absolutely heartwarming. Thank you so much.”
The pair’s split comes as Kem prepares for a brand new TV challenge, taking part in the new series of ITV’s Dancing On Ice next year.
