Love Island’s Alex Bowen and Olivia Buckland want to take part in I’m A Celebrity

Love Island couple Alex Bowen and Olivia Buckland want to take part in I’m A Celebrity 2017.

The engaged pair, who appeared on the ITV2 series last year, hope to be apart of this year’s cast.

Alex told Star magazine: “Liv and I would love to do the jungle.

“I’d be the worst person to do it, though. I’m scared of everything – snakes, spiders, you name it! But it would be hilarious to watch if I could bring myself to do it.”

He added: “It would be great to go on as a couple because Liv could help me through it.”

It was reported recently that a number of recent Love Island contestants are competing for a spot on the I’m A Celebrity line up following the success of the ITV2 reality show.

Alongside Alex and Olivia, they include more recent contestants Olivia Attwood, Gabby Allen and Camilla Thurlow .

A source told The Sun newspaper: “All three of the girls would love to appear on the show, and they would definitely add some glamour to the camp.

“The question is – who will finish on top?”

The news follows claims that I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here is said to be considering inviting reality stars back to the show.

Last year’s series reportedly had an unofficial ‘no reality stars’ rule which meant the likes of TOWIE, Made In Chelsea, Geordie Shore and Love Island stars could not take part.

Producers were said to have wanted more ‘credible’ names following previous casts, like 2015’s line up which saw Geordie Shore’s Vicky Pattison, TOWIE’s Fearn McCann and X Factor’s George Shelley in the final.

However in a U-turn, a source suggested: “Reality stars create more social media buzz and also attract younger viewers.”

Alongside possible Love Island contestants, other names linked to I’m A Celeb this year include The Saturdays’ singer Vanessa White, Made In Chelsea’s Louise Thompson, and Tattoo Fixers star Paisley Billings.

The show, hosted by Ant and Dec, typically begins in November.
