Love Island girls become Gym Bunnies in latest bizarre challenge

The Love Island contestants are turned into Gym Bunnies for today’s latest task.

The BAFTA award winning reality series springs another surprise challenge on the group in tonight’s show.

As the Islanders relax in the garden, Arabella receives a text.

It reads: “Girls. It’s time to hop-it, as you all compete in today’s challenge ‘Gym Bunnies’. #atitlikerabbits #runrabbitrun”

Over two heats, the girls must complete a course which is made of four stages, in the fastest time possible.

The girls will be dressed as ‘Gym Bunnies’ while the boys will act as their very own personal trainers.

The first stage involves drinking a rabbit-food green juice whilst running on a treadmill.

Once they’ve finished the drink, for the second part they must jump on to the bunny box and have to do ten bunny hops.

Following that, they then munch on an entire carrot whilst on a rowing machine without using their hands.

Finally, the girls must complete 20 sit-ups whilst giving their boy a bunny kiss each time they sit up.

As expected, the last stage of the challenge proves to be a bit awkward for Yewande and Danny, as their romance has been on the rocks since Arabella’s arrival.

In the Beach Hut, Danny reflects on the challenge and says: “We haven’t fully cleared the air yet so there was a bit of tension there.”

Similarly, Yewande tells the camera in the beach hut: “After the end of the course, I just tried not to look at Danny. It was really awkward.”

Meanwhile, single girls Maura and Arabella can choose any of the boys to be their personal trainer as part of the challenge.

Maura picks Tom to be her personal trainer but all eyes were on Arabella to see who she would choose. Arabella picks Danny.

In the Beach Hut, Amber reacts “We all knew that Arabella was going to pick Danny.”

In the Beach Hut, Amy comments: “Could she not have just chosen Anton?”

The Islanders were particularly impressed with Maura’s skills in today’s challenge.

Tom says “Maura got rid of the juice in record time! I was trying to stay professional but she did look good doing the bunny hops.”

In the Beach Hut, Maura reflects on the challenge and remarks: “I didn’t think I was very competitive but since coming in here, I think I’m a really competitive girl.”

Love Island 2019 airs tonight (Sunday, June 23) at 9PM on ITV2.
