Love Island 2018 set to be the longest ever with eight week series

Love Island 2018 is set to be the biggest series yet with an epic eight week run.

Love Island will return to ITV2 this summer for its fourth season.

And after proving a ratings it last year, the new series will last longer than ever, according to reports.

Radio Times says that series four will last for eight weeks, seven days longer than last year’s record-breaking run.

The magazine also suggests that the show will film in the same villa as 2017.

Meanwhile, other rumours have claimed that producers are said to be planning an epic new twist to start the series.

An insider told The Sun newspaper previously: “They’re planning on the season opener beginning with two big villas – just like they introduced midway through last series.

“And they want to throw in nearly double the amount of contestants to really stir things up.

“Planning is still in the early stages but what is for sure is that it’s going to be bigger than ever.”

Applications currently remain open for Love Island 2018 with a reported 150,000 singletons putting themselves forward.

To apply for Love Island 2018 you must be at least 18, have a valid passport and, if required, visas to travel and stay within the EU, plus of course be free for a long hot summer in 2018.

Meanwhile, although ITV have yet to officially announce when Love Island will be back, host Caroline Flack took to Twitter last week to reveal it would return very soon.

Telling fans there were “2 months” to go, it seems as though we can expect Love Island to return within the first week of June.

Based on past years, Monday June 4 could be a possible start date for Love Island 2018.
