Little Mix reveal plans to crack America with their new album

X Factor winners Little Mix have revealed they hope to crack America in the next year.

Little Mix – made up of Jesy Nelson, Leigh-Anne Pinnock, Jade Thirlwall and Perrie Edwards – won The X Factor in 2011.

They released their fifth studio album LM5 last November and now they plan to take it across the states to America.

Jesy declared this month: “That’s our main aim: we really want to crack America. We’re willing to put the work in.”

In an interview with The Guardian, Leigh-Anne added: “We set our goals very high from the start. We wanted dolls, we wanted bed sheets, we wanted makeup, absolutely everything, and obviously these things kept being ticked off.”

The girls have quite a lot of work ahead of them: While LM5 debuted at Number 3 in the UK it has peaked at only Number 40 in the US to date.

Little Mix’s ambitions come after they parted ways from Simon Coweell’s Syco label.

It was announced last year that former X Factor winners Little Mix would no longer be working with Simon’s company after a behind the scenes disagreement between the label and group’s management.

“We’re ready for a new start. Change, especially in the creative industry is always good,” said Perrie of moving to new label RCA Records in 2018.

Leigh-Anne added: “We were with Syco for seven years and had an incredible journey but it’s going to be nice to change it up and get a new view on us.

“A change and a fresh start is a good thing, we’re excited.”

For now, Little Mix’s next gig has been confirmed for The BRITs Nominations ceremony later this month. They’ll perform alongside the likes of George Ezra, Jess Glynne, Not3s & Mabel, and the winner of the 2019 Critics’ Choice award Sam Fender.

Airing on 12 January at 5pm on ITV, Clara Amfo will host ‘The BRITs Are Coming’ – a one hour TV special which will exclusively reveal the much anticipated nominations for The BRIT Awards 2019.
