Len Goodman hasn’t seen Strictly Come Dancing since leaving

Former Strictly Come Dancing judge Len Goodman has confessed he’s not been watching the series.

Len confirmed last year he was quitting Strictly and the 2016 series would be his last.

After more than a decade behind the judges’ desk, he was replaced by Shirley Ballas on the BBC One series this year.

And Len has admitted he’s not been able to tune in to see the show without him.

“I haven’t seen it because I’ve been in America but my wife has told me Shirley Ballas is doing a really good job,” Len said.

He told the Daily Mirror newspaper: “I miss Strictly. I knew I would but I’d done it for 12 years.

“I didn’t want to get dithery and for people to go, ‘He’s still on it, the old fool, dribbling and stuff’.“I thought that was the right time to go.”

Meanwhile, Len hinted that he could also be set to step down from the American version of the show, Dancing With The Stars.

Len currently continues to judge on the US series, alongside Strictly’s Bruno Tonioli, but insisted he didn’t choose it over the British show.

“It was nothing to do with preferring the American one,” Len explained. “In Britain with Strictly, you sign a contract for each series.

“In March or so they’ll say, ‘Do you wanna do the show?’ and you can say, ‘yay’ or they can say, ‘We don’t want you anymore’.

“In America it’s a different kettle of fish – you have to sign for four at a time.

“That’s what I’d done. I was stuck with having to do it if I wanted to or not.”
