Kylie Minogue returns to The Voice UK to mentor the contestants

Kylie Minogue is reportedly set for a return to The Voice UK this year.

The former coach on the series is rumoured to be making a comeback to mentor the contestants in the upcoming knockout rounds.

Aussie singer Kylie was a coach on The Voice UK back in 2014 when the show was on BBC One.

Now airing on ITV, The Voice will welcome Kylie back as a guest mentor next month.

A source told The Sun newspaper: “Kylie will spend a day working with one of the coaches to mentor their contestants during the knockout stage of the competition.

“Telly bosses are in talks with a number of other big names who they think will be able to provide useful feedback for the singers, too.”

This year’s coaches are made up of newbie Olly Murs and returning Will.i.am, Sir Tom Jones and Jennifer Hudson.

They are once again on a quest to uncover the best vocal talent that Britain has to offer, with this year’s winner scooping a life changing record contract with Polydor Records.

As always, the first stage is the blind auditions where the contestants must hold their nerve as they sing to the backs of the coaches.

If any of them like what they hear, they hit their buzzer to spin around and select that artist for their teams of ten.

After the first four weeks, Olly currently leads the way with seven of his ten acts chosen. Both Will and Sir Tom have six while Jennifer has only half her spaces filled as things stand.

Another set of singing hopefuls will perform on The Voice UK stage this Saturday night in the fifth week of auditions.

They include 16-year-old student Saskia Eng from Edinburgh who sings London Grammar’s Strong.

The Voice UK 2018 airs Saturday night on ITV.
