Kiosk Kev has made his debut on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! in the first Dingo Dollar Challenge of the new series – but Anne Hegerty and Fleur East missed out on the reward.
The campmates were in a good mood yesterday after Emily Atack secured nine meals in her snake-tastic Bushtucker Trial.
Anne and Fleur – currently living in the bare-bones Snake Rock camp as part of a twist – then had the opportunity to win some extra treats in the more light-hearted Dingo Dollar Challenge.
Arriving at a clearing, they found a barrel, some gnomes, a hose and a maze surrounded by a picket fence.
The rhyming instructions were as follows: “One of you gnomes will not stay dry; as you fill the barrel to keep the water high.
“Moving those balls is the aim of the game; if they exit the maze, you’ll have hidden dollars to claim.”
Dressed as gnomes, the pair had to pull a lavatory chain to power a shower and fill a watering can.
This enabled them to top up the barrel with water, which in turn fed the hose. Using the hose, they had to guide balls out of the maze.
Once they had retrieved three balls, Anne and Fleur were able to release their Dingo Dollars and move on to the Outback Shack.
The jungle stall is under new management this year, with Kiosk Kev taking over from Kiosk Keith after he was dropped from the show.
Anne and Fleur chose to spend their money on scones, jam and clotted cream, snubbing crudités with houmous.
As always, they would only get their hands on the goodies if the other celebs answered a question correctly.
Kev called Snake Rock to pose the teaser: “According to a recent survey, what percentage of children aspire to become a Youtuber – 75% or 65%?”
Mulling it over, Anne commented: “It’s the sort of question they don’t ask unless the answer is really extreme. That’s the way people set questions.”
However, James McVey and Rita Simons settled on the smaller option – which turned out to be incorrect.
Kev promptly slammed the kiosk shutter down, forcing Anne and Fleur to return empty-handed.
I’m A Celebrity airs nightly at 9.00pm on ITV, followed by Extra Camp on ITV2.
