Former X Factor winner Joe McElderry says he’s up for taking part in Strictly Come Dancing.
The singer has been repeatedly linked and rumoured to the BBC One series and he’s now said it would be something he’d love to do.
It could make for the fourth reality telly competition for Joe who previously triumphed in The X Factor Popstar to Operastar and The Jump.
“It’s the whole process of performing in them and learning a skill,” Joe told OK! Magazine of the appeal of reality shows. “I would love to try Strictly, that’s the one for me. It would be a fun one.”
He explained: “I am a bit of a frustrated dancer.
“In my head I think I dance like Beyonce, but I don’t think that’s the case.
“In my head I think I am performing in her stadium concert then I get off stage and see videos of myself back and think ‘ohh I don’t know why I was doing that’.”
Meanwhile one celebrity who definitely WON’T be taking to the Strictly dancefloor any time soon (or rather ever) is Great British Bake Off legend Mary Berry.
Mary revealed to the Radio Times that she’s turned down the show, commenting: “My husband and children would kill me. I have two left feet and would make a terrible fool of myself.”
Also rejecting the series this week was Rick Atsley.
He told the Daily Mirror: “I have been asked to go on it. But I wouldn’t want to compete on it. I’m not fit enough.
“Greg Rutherford said they practise every hour of the day. I couldn’t do it. Not a chance.”
The new series of Strictly Come Dancing will air on BBC One later this year.
