James Jordan announces new gig after Dancing On Ice victory

James Jordan has landed a brand new gig fresh from his victory on Dancing On Ice.

It was former Strictly pro James who won Dancing On Ice 2019 earlier this month, beating Love Island’s Wes Nelson and singer Saara Aalto in the final.

Now he’s set to team up with wife Ola Jordan on a brand new project – but it’s not a return to Strictly.

James and Ola have been booked for the 2019 Panto at The Harlequin Theatre and Cinema in Redhill, it’s been announced.

James will take on his very first acting role as the menacing Fleshcreep, whilst Ola will play the magical Spirit of the Beans, according to theatre news website Stage Chat.

Pantomime Producer Paul Holman said: “James and Ola bring glitz, glamour and pure talent and I’m delighted that Redhill audiences will get to enjoy their debut pantomime performance”.

Jack and the Beanstalk will run from Friday 6 until Tuesday 31 December 2019.

Tickets cost from £10 and can be purchased now via www.harlequintheatre.co.uk.

The news comes after James revealed he needs an operation on his arm after Dancing On Ice.

Speaking after the final, he recalled: “When I woke up on Sunday [the day of the final] I said to producers, ‘I’m out. I’m not going to be able to perform because of my shoulder.’ I could not lift my arm.

“Sharon, the show’s physio, is the only reason I got to perform on the night.

“I said to her, ‘Do whatever you can to get me through those three dances and I’ll love you for ever’, and she did.”

He told The Sun newspaper: “Now I’m going to need surgery.”

Last week he took to Instagram to update fans, telling them: “Tomorrow I go for my shoulder surgery and I’m going to be honest I’m REALLY REALLY nervous!

“It’s going to be a long recovery but would do the show again tomorrow if I could ( Including shoulder injury ) OMG I’m nervous though !!!”

Dancing On Ice will return to ITV next year, it’s already been confirmed.
