Jake Quickenden could end up joining the cast of Hollyoaks.
The former X Factor and I’m A Celebrity contestant recently competed on Dancing On Ice, winning the series.
Now he could be set for another – very different – TV appearance.
The Sun newspaper reports that Jake may well be the new star of Channel 4 soap Hollyoaks.
“Jake is someone who the casting directors have had in mind for a while,” a source spilled. “He was approached several years ago but there wasn’t really a suitable role at the time. Now there are opportunities for him to join and he’s very well liked.
“He has convinced people he’d be a great addition to the cast.”
Jake meanwhile has told BANG! Showbiz (via DigitalSpy): “I did chat to [Hollyoaks bosses] and they asked me if I’d been doing acting lessons and I had.
“So, if it came about that I had to go to a casting and learn the job, that’s what I’d be well willing to do.
“You get people that slog away at university doing acting, so I want to actually go through the right method. And if I get the job I want to be able to say I deserved it because I went through the right process.”
Jake added: “I’ve always watched Hollyoaks. I haven’t had much time to watch anything at the minute but my mum loves the soaps and when I’m with her she gets them all on.”
Jake beat soap star Brooke Vincent in the Dancing On Ice final earlier this year.
He recently took part in the show’s live tour.
