Shane Richie and AJ Pritchard took on the latest I’m A Celebrity 2020 trial tonight.
Ant & Dec went into camp yesterday evening (Thursday 26 November) to reveal the results of the viewer vote.
With the most votes from viewers, Shane and AJ took part in ‘Chambers of Horror’.
Arriving at the trial in tonight’s episode, the pair were told they would both be sealed in a chamber with their body below ground and their head above it.
They were told there would be six rounds and in each round they’d both need to get the star off of the thread using their tongue and mouth only.
They were told it was a relay race, against the clock. So the first celebrity had to release their star before the second celebrity could release theirs. They were warned that the trial would get progressively harder because the amount of time they had would reduce.
The trial was six rounds, with two stars to win in each round, a total of 12 meals available to win. The pair were told they’d be joined by castle critters in the chambers.
AJ said to Shane: “You’re shaking. I feel you shaking, he’s going for it.”
AJ volunteered to go first in the first round.
AJ joked: “The curl cream is not going to survive this” as maggots and giant meal worms were added to their head and body boxes as they were given 2 minutes to complete the round. They both secured their stars.
In round 2 Shane went first with locusts and crickets to the boxes. They had 1 minute 30 seconds on the second round. They both secured their stars.
In round 3 they were given 1 minute 15 seconds. The boxes were loaded with scorpions and they both secured their stars.
Round 4 they had further critters added and they both secured their stars.
In Round 5 they had snakes each added into their head boxes. 45 seconds were on the clock. There was time for AJ to release his star, but not Shane.
AJ apologised to Shane who said: “Don’t be silly, you had it tough over there.”
Round 6 saw rats added to the head boxes and the clock remained at 45 seconds on the clock.
Shane started on the final round and both earned their star.
As a result, the pair secured 11 out of 12 stars for camp.
Other celebs taking part in the show include Radio 1’s Jordan North, operatic tenor Russell Watson, Olympic legend Sir Mo Farah, Paralympic Gold Medallist Hollie Arnold, former Strictly pro AJ Pritchard, EastEnders actress Jessica Plummer, presenter Vernon Kay, author Giovanna Fletcher, journalist Victoria Derbyshire, West End icon Ruthie Henshall and actress Beverley Callard.
