Cliff Parisi has been released from jail on I’m A Celebrity 2019 thanks to Caitlyn Jenner and James Haskell’s Dingo Dollar victory.
Yesterday’s Bushtucker Trial result meant the meals were delivered to the Jailhouse, leaving main camp on basic rations.
With the mood in Snake Rock low, Caitlyn and James hoped they could at least bring back a tasty treat from the Dingo Dollar Challenge.
However, their dreams were dashed when they arrived at a bank-style set.
“Outlaws are here, their bail agreed. Rob the bank for one to be freed,” the instructions read. “Unlock the safe to steal the look. The first clue for you, is to look in the boot.”
Noticing photos of Cliff and Andy Whyment labelled ‘$100’, they realised they could only spend the dollars to free one of the inmates.
“I’ll just give them a hundred bucks and we’re done,” joked Caitlyn.
With the bank closed, the pair had to carry out a heist to retrieve the dollars by completing puzzles.
The escape room was littered with jungle critters, with James calling one huge spider “the size of a gopher”.
Eventually they secured the loot and headed to the Outback Shack to bail out one of the late arrivals.
“I tell you what, I’d rather a bag of crisps or chocolate bar if I’m completely honest with you,” smirked James.
Deciding who to pick, James reasoned: “I don’t know these guys, but I know Cliff played Minty in EastEnders and I’ve got a really good friend called Minty.”
Oblivious to who the soap stars are, Caitlyn agreed that was a good enough reason and handed over the dosh.
Kiosk Kev then phoned the Jailhouse, but in a change from the usual format, he didn’t ask a teaser question.
Instead, Cliff was immediately released, and the outlaws sang cowboy songs as they bid him farewell.
Andy was happy with the result, telling the Bush Telegraph: “To be honest, I’m glad they’ve picked Cliff.
“He had a tough night last night, he’d have spent most of the night looking at the trees. Hopefully he’ll get a decent kip.”
Cliff didn’t get the warmest of welcomes in main camp, with the other celebs disappointed they didn’t get food.
“I do feel sorry for Cliff as there was high hopes for chocolate,” explained Nadine Coyle.
“Then Cliff came, which was great, but I think there was a ‘oh, they’re back and they’ve not got any chocolate’.”
In a bid to ease tensions, the Call the Midwife actor explained that Trial participants Jacqueline Jossa and Myles Stephenson hadn’t made a conscious choice to keep the meals.
The pair had played rock, paper, scissors to determine the result as they struggled with the dilemma.
I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! continues nightly at 9.00pm on ITV.
