The first I’m A Celebrity 2018 results have proved a shock, after Noel Edmonds was given the boot.
Following a two-day trial for immunity from the eviction, tonight saw the first celebrity kicked out of the jungle.
Only six campers faced the public poll and it was TV legend Noel who was voted off in the first I’m A Celebrity 2018 results tonight, having entered the show just 10 days ago.
He was meant to be the show’s top signing, with a reported £600,000 fee.
Speaking after his exit, Noel said he was disappointed but looking forward to seeing his wife.
“I was just going to be myself, open and honest. I wasn’t going to do anything for effect,” he told hosts Holly and Dec. “I wanted to do something different.
“Please believe me, this is just about the finest production I’ve ever been associated with. You’re running a 24 hour operation here, a lot of what you experience the viewers don’t see. It’s incredible and I’m humbled and proud to be apart of it.”
The result proved a shock to many fans with one reacting: “Noel Edmonds leaving the jungle is yet another reason why we should not let the public vote in this country. #ImACeleb ”
Another posted on Twitter: “Noel is leaving?! Oh UK you’ve voted wrong AGAIN #ImaCeleb”
A third commented: “Wow I’m shocked that Noel is out first. He’s a bit of an ass but way more entertaining than James and Rita… ?? #ImACeleb xx”
And a fourth wrote: “How on earth has Noel gone before Rita? So many others who were immune who should have gone before him!”
Following Noel’s eviction, those left in camp are TV presenter Nick Knowles, actor and entertainer John Barrowman MBE, Hollyoaks star Malique Thompson-Dwyer, popstar James McVey, football manager Harry Redknapp, actor Rita Simons, TV’s ‘The Governess’ Anne Hegerty, comedy actor Emily Atack, Corrie star Sair Khan, and singer Fleur East.
I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here airs nightly on ITV. Spin-off show Extra Camp airs each night on ITV2 straight after the main show.
