Honeyz’s Celena Cherry auditions for Britain’s Got Talent with Michael Jackson act

Celena Cherry, lead singer of girl group Honeyz, has auditioned for Britain’s Got Talent with her husband.

Away from the main show, on Britain’s Got More Talent we met Celena and her partner Danny Oliver.

They took to the stage with a Michael Jackson tribute act.

Celena sang while her husband Danny danced to a string of Michael’s biggest hits.

Honeyz found fame in the late 90s, achieving five top ten hits including ‘Finally Found’ and ‘Won’t Take It Lying Down’ before splitting in 2002.

Celena told the audience: “I turned 40 last year, and this year marks 20 years since Honeyz came out.”

The judges were impressed by the performance, and even suggested another Honeyz reunion.

Celena joked it was “up to Simon” Cowell to decide whether that would happen, and the music mogul seemed to be interested.

“I hadn’t thought about putting you back together, but I won’t rule it out now,” he responded.

Honeyz previously made a comeback in 2012, when three former members including Celena joined ITV2 reality show The Big Reunion.

It was so successful that they later embarked on an arena tour with the other bands that took part.

Auditions continued on Saturday night with the fourth round of try outs.

Other acts making it through on BGT at the weekend included quick changing married couple Ellie and Jeki from South Korea and comedian Noel James, who had the panel in stitches with his gags.

Also getting through were Audrey Leybourne, a retired 90-year-old and occasional singer who performed ‘I Want To Be Loved By You’, and the The D-Day Darlings, a wartime themed choir of nine girls that sang ‘We’ll Meet Again’ by Vera Lynn.

Magician Andrew Lee got four yeses after a daring card trick that incorporated a knife throw on stage with Ant and Dec, whiles singer Aleksandar Mileusnic made the next round with a swing version of ‘Seven Nation Army’ by The White Stripes.

Britain’s Got More Talent airs Saturday nights on ITV2.

It follows the main series of Britain’s Got Talent 2018 on ITV.
