Hollyoaks star Jennifer Metcalfe is reportedly on the verge of signing up for I’m A Celebrity 2019.
The actress is one of the Channel 4 soap’s most recognisable faces, having appeared as Mercedes McQueen since 2006.
Now she looks set to take on a very different role, by trading Chester for the Australian outback.
According to The Sun, Jennifer is one of the I’m A Celeb producers’ top targets for its upcoming nineteenth series.
A source told the newspaper: “Jen is perfect for the jungle, she’s really funny and attractive and she loves a challenge.
“She hasn’t signed yet but bosses are really keen to get her on the show. She’s been into ITV for meetings.”
Jennifer, who’s in a relationship with former Geordie Shore star Greg Lake, is no stranger to reality TV.
In 2011 she competed in the sixth series of Dancing On Ice, becoming the seventh celebrity eliminated after losing to Vanilla Ice.
Two years later she joined short-living diving competition Splash!, although she pulled out shortly before her appearance.
The news comes after Ant and Dec revealed that they know who’s in this year’s I’m A Celeb line-up.
The much-loved Geordie hosts attended a production meeting earlier today, where bosses spilled the beans.
Posting a picture on Instagram, they wrote: “At @itv having meeting about @imacelebrity. Finding out what’s in store and this year’s celebs…. “
Other names rumoured for camp include rugby player James Haskell, Rak-Su member Myles Stephenson and television host Ulrika Jonsson.
Unfortunately, Ant and Dec are unlikely to land their dream booking, Piers Morgan, who has demanded a £5million fee.
I’m A Celebrity will be back on our screens once again in mid-November.
