Girls Aloud are said to be working on a new reunion tour, five years after they split.
Girls Aloud were made up of Nadine Coyle, Kimberley Walsh, Sarah Harding, Nicola Roberts and Cheryl Tweedy.
The five piece were one of reality telly’s first big successes after being put together on Popstars: The Rivals in 2002.
Managed then by now X Factor judge Louis Walsh, the group went to Christmas Number 1 that year with their debut hit Sound Of The Underground.
More than a decade of hits followed before the group finally called it a day in 2013.
Now The Sun says that the group are said to be working on a comeback tour.
The tabloid claims that Cheryl has hatched plans for a string of concerts in the lead up to their 20th anniversary together.
There’s been repeated rumours of a reunion since and Kimberley recently said it could well happen.
“I wouldn’t rule it out, absolutely not,” she told the Daily Mirror newspaper. “It may be something that will happen in the future – maybe for the 20th.
“If the planets collided and it was the right time, then definitely,” Kimberley added, “It was an amazing time.”
The news comes after Nadine Coyle cancelled a solo tour featuring Girls Aloud’s biggest hits.
“Her former bandmates made it clear they would prefer Nadine to wait and sing the songs together,” reports The Sun.
However last year saw Nadine admit there had always been tension between the girls when they were together.
She said in a 2017 interview: “It’s so sad for me to have to admit this. For so long there’s the band and you want everybody to think we’re best friends. That’s what I wanted it to be. I really, really wanted that to be but it just wasn’t how it was.
“We’re all very, very different characters.”
