Gemma Collins and James ‘Arg’ Argent want to go for Christmas Number 1

Reality couple Gemma Collins and James ‘Arg’ Argent are plotting to grab next year’s Christmas Number 1.

Arg has revealed the pair are considering releasing a song together to try and get to the top spot in 2019.

It follows Gemma surprising viewers with her appearance on a celebrity special of BBC One’s singing contest All Together Now.

After the episode aired, Arg said: “Her singing has really come on, she has a secret hidden talent there. She’s got big lungs.”

He told The Sun newspaper: “We are approached all the time to do a duet and to record songs together.

“We’ve both been so busy but next year, if the demand is still there, we will go for the Christmas No1.”

Gemma appeared on All Together Now’s first celebrity special at the weekend.

The show sees contestants sing in front of a 100-strong judging panel, who are encouraged to get up and sing along if they like the performance. The more of The 100 that sing along, the higher a contestants’ score.

In the first round, Gemma gave a strong rendition of Big Spender to get 88 of The 100 on their feet.

And her performance took viewers by surprising with one tweeting: “Well I didn’t see that coming Gemma Collins #AllTogetherNow”

Another asked: “When did Gemma Collins get great at singing? #AllTogetherNow”

And a third wrote on Twitter: “Absolutely loved @missgemcollins on #AllTogetherNow tonight smashed it! X”

However after making the top three, her performance in the sing-off where she performed This Is Me from The Greatest Showman and only 39 joined in.

Soap star Laurie Brett won the show with a cover of Simply The Best by Bonnie Tyler, scoring 99 out of 100.

All Together Now will air a second series in 2019.
