Gavin Rossdale reckons The X Factor is better than The Voice UK – and this is why.

Bush frontman Gavin was a coach on The Voice when it moved to ITV earlier this year, but won’t be back in 2018.

And after leaving, he’s taken a swipe at the show and plugged its rival singing contest The X Factor.

He said: “What the X Factor does so well that [The Voice UK] don’t is they are a bit more prepared between the label and the show.”

Speaking to the Daily Mirror newspaper, Gavin explained: “They seem to test them with a few songs and have a lot more ready to go with the artist. It just feels a little bit on The Voice like they are chasing their tails – all the while in the competition.”

To date, no winner from The Voice UK has gone on to much chart success with latest champion Mo Adeniran charting at Number 78 with his first single.

Meanwhile, Gavin has confirmed he won’t be back in The Voice’s spinning chairs for next year’s seventh series.

“It’s okay, it’s showbiz. I’m fully grown, I understand how it works,” he told the Metro newspaper.

Gavin added: “It’s such a massive show and it’s great to be part of a juggernaut. I’m going to miss that side of it because that was a real laugh.

“It was a great experience. I had an amazing time on the show I loved it, I love all the people on there. Especially Tom.”

According to reports, McFly’s Danny Jones is the favourite to replace Gavin on The Voice in 2018.

“Danny is currently one of the favourites to replace him,” a source said.

Danny was recently a judge on The Voice Kids spin-off alongside Pixie Lott and Will.i.am while alongside Gavin and Will.i.am, Sir Tom Jones and Jennifer Hudson were on The Voice UK line up for the last series, while Emma Willis hosted the first run on ITV.

The show will return in January 2018 on ITV for the second of a three-series deal.
