Footballer David James rumoured for Strictly Come Dancing 2018 line up

Footballer David James has been rumoured for the Strictly Come Dancing 2018 line up.

The ex-England keeper is said to be on a wish list of celebs for this year’s series.

The now football coach is supposedly “interested” in an offer from show bosses.

A source told The Sun newspaper today: “The Strictly casting team are really keen to sign up a former footballer this year.

“It’s been a while since we had a celebrity from the world of football and, as 2018 is a World Cup year, a footballer makes perfect sense.”

However the insider added: “The question is whether or not he will be able to balance training with his other commitments, as he is currently coaching a team in India.”

While Strictly’s 2018 series still has a while to go before launching, a whole number of celebs have been linked to the series.

One of the names Strictly Come Dancing bosses are reportedly “desperate” to sign is X Factor star turned TV host Rylan Clark-Neal.

The Chase’s Mark Labbett has also been tipped to take part in Strictly Come Dancing. alongside Actress Michelle Keegan.

More rumoured celebs include The 2015 Great British Bake Off winner Nadiya Hussein, TV actor Les Dennis, boxing legend Frank Bruno and even This Morning’s own host Holly Willoughby. Despite hosting Dancing On Ice, she said: “I’m obsessed with Strictly, so I’d love to learn to dance.”

Strictly Come Dancing will begin on BBC One in the autumn.

The line up is typically confirmed around August/September.
