Emily Atack is reportedly in talks to return to I’m A Celebrity – as a presenter on ITV2 spin-off Extra Camp.
The jungle contest’s sister show suffered a blow at the weekend when not one, but two of its stars quit.
Scarlett Moffatt and Joe Swash both confirmed they are bowing out – the latter leaving after a decade as its longest-serving host.
Chiefs are now hunting replacements, and it seems they’re again turning to past series to find new recruits.
The Sun claims that Inbetweeners actress Emily Atack is being considered for one of the vacant spots.
She was a popular member of last year’s camp, with the public voting her runner-up to Harry Redknapp.
“Emily charmed I’m A Celeb viewers with her bubbly personality and self-depracating jokes,” a source said.
“She’s a true professional and can more than handle herself live on camera. She has great energy and doesn’t take herself too seriously.
“She’s been open this year about being comfortable in her own skin and producers think she represents real women.”
According to the newspaper, ITV also wants another male to take over from Joe.
The newbies will join comedian Joel Dommett, the only returning member of the Extra Camp line-up.
Joel – rumoured to be fronting The Masked Singer UK – will apparently become the lead presenter as part of the shake-up.
“Bosses are also planning to book another male presenter to replace Joe,” the insider added.
“They think a trio of presenters work well on set, with Joel carrying the show.”
Extra Camp has developed a habit of hiring former I’m A Celeb contestants as hosts.
Scarlett and Joel were both hired after they finished as winner and runner-up of the sixteenth series.
The former replaced Vicky Pattison, who preceded her as series fifteen’s Queen of the Jungle.
As for the main show, Ant McPartlin has confirmed he’ll be back alongside Dec Donnelly this year following his return to television.
I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! 2019 will launch on ITV in November.
