Ed Sheeran to sing on both X Factor and Strictly Come Dancing’s final

Ed Sheeran has been booked to play both the X Factor and Strictly Come Dancing final.

Despite breaking his arm in a bicycle crash, Ed is expected to be well enough to hit the stage of both live TV finals in December.

The X Factor final airs on December 2 and 3 while Strictly Come Dancing’s final is scheduled for two weeks’ later on December 16.

A source told The Sun newspaper: “No one has ever played both finals in the same year but neither show wanted to miss out on nabbing the year’s biggest-selling singer. Strictly will be keeping a close eye on what Ed brings to X Factor and are promising his stint on their finale will be even bigger and better.

“Both are just praying he makes a full recovery in time.”

For now, Rita Ora and Britain’s Got Talent 2017 winner Tokio Myers are the next guest stars confirmed for The X Factor.

The pair will be taking to the stage live during next Saturday and Sunday night’s live shows which return with a new ‘Viva Latino’ carnival theme.

Currently a total of 14 acts remain in the competition’s final stages.

The X Factor 2017 continues next Saturday at 8:20PM and Sunday night at 7:05PM on ITV.

Meanwhile Strictly is back on Saturday from 6:35PM and on Sunday at 7:15PM, featuring Welsh rock band Stereophonics.
