DJ Vick Hope ‘signs up for Strictly Come Dancing line up’

Radio DJ and TV presenter Vick Hope has reportedly signed up for Strictly Come Dancing.

Vick is a DJ on Capital FM and recently worked as digital host for The Voice UK.

According to The Sun newspaper, Vick is the first celebrity to be officially signed up for the 2018 Strictly cast.

Her deal comes amid claims that bosses have been struggling to sign ‘big names’ because of fears over the so-called ‘Strictly curse’.

“Strictly has always been a massive draw in the past, but it hasn’t been as easy this year,” a source alleged. “They’ve asked loads of top names, but with people like Louise Redknapp and Ben Cohen in mind, many in relationships are saying no.

“Bosses are obviously hoping to bring in some bigger names, but they need everyone signed by the end of this month.”

A spokesperson for the BBC commented on the reports: “We do not comment on speculation. The line-up will be announced in due course.”

More rumoured names Strictly Come Dancing bosses could sign this year include TV personality Anneka Rice, football pundit Chris Kamara and Radio DJ Maya Jama.

Strictly Come Dancing bosses are also reportedly “desperate” to sign X Factor star turned TV host Rylan Clark-Neal.

“Rylan is charismatic and popular, and the bosses are sure he would be a huge hit on the show,” a source said previously. “He is definitely one of their targets for 2018.”

More potential Strictly 2018 celebs include soap stars Chelsea Halfpenny and Hayley Tamaddon plus breakfast TV presenters Piers Morgan and Dan Walker, who front ITV’s Good Morning Britain and BBC’s Breakfast respectively.

Hollyoaks star turned Oscar winner Rachel Shenton and The Chase’s Mark Labbett have also been tipped to take part in Strictly Come Dancing 2018, alongside former England footballer David James.

Strictly Come Dancing begins on BBC One in September.
