Death In Paradise spoilers
In the season finale this week (18 February), Emmet Peterson (Wil Johnson) walks into Saint Marie police station confessing to killing his good friend and local businesswoman Gardenia Dujon (Karen Bryson). It appears to be a straightforward case, but Emmett doesn’t remember what happened before he woke up at the scene with a gun in his hand.
It is revealed that Emmett is suffering from post-traumatic amnesia, leading the team to make further inquiries. Even Gardenia’s husband Patrick Harborne (Justin Edwards) and daughter Cassie Dujon (Ayoola Smart) are baffled by the case – what possible motive would Emmet have for killing his best friend Gardenia? Against his instincts and with no other clear evidence, D.I Neville has no choice but to arrest Emmett. But he continues his investigations.
An angry daughter, a jealous husband and mystery man Tarone Vincent (Kiell Smith-Bynoe) from Gardenia’s past, confound D.I. Parker as he endeavours to discover the truth about the baffling case. And could a child’s crayon found near Gardenia’s body be a vital clue in helping to solve the case?
Back at the station, JP (Tobi Bakare) has to make a major decision about his future. Trainee Marlon’s (Tahj Miles) reaction to the news has unfortunate consequences for the whole team. The team dynamics are also changing in other ways: D.I. Parker tries to address his feelings for Florence (Josephiné Jobert) when she accepts a date invitation from an old school friend – has he missed his chance?
