Dancing On Ice’s Wes Nelson denies romance with pro partner Vanessa Bauer

Wes Nelson has denied any romance with his Dancing On Ice pro skater Vanessa Bauer.

Wes made the comments following his split with fellow Love Island star Megan Barton Hanson.

The pair got together on the ITV2 series last summer but announced they were ending things in January.

Now Wes has denied rumours linking him to his Dancing On Ice pro skating partner Vanessa.

“There is no chemistry with Vanessa. Everyone here knows that but on the ice there has to be some kind of bond in terms of your dancing,” he told The Sun newspaper. “There is nothing going on. It is nothing Vanessa has done — just the fact she didn’t reach out to Megan, who expected Vanessa to reassure her.”

Wes repeated the denials in a separate interview with this week’s OK! Magazine.

“People have said, ‘Why don’t you get with Vanessa?’ he told the publication. “I see it in my comments all the time, but for one has anyone ever asked me if I fancy her? No I don’t. Vanessa is not my cup of tea.”

Meanwhile, Wes hit back at Megan over comments she made about the end of their relationship.

“To say I didn’t fight for her is silly because it was a mutual decision,” he said.

Wes explained: “I didn’t just say, ‘That’s it. I’m done.’ Fight for what? We both ended the relationship. If she wanted me to say more or do more that day I didn’t know that.

“Of course I still love Megan. You can’t just drop the feelings after a week of being split up, but loving someone doesn’t mean that they are the right person for you.”

Wes’ full interview appears in this week’s OK! Magazine, on sale now.

Dancing On Ice 2019 continues Sunday nights at 6PM on ITV.

Alongside Wes, celebs still competing in this year’s series are Coronation Street actress Jane Danson, X Factor favourite Saara Aalto and Pussycat Dolls singer Melody Thornton.

Completing this evening’s cast were sportsman Ryan Sidebottom, Strictly Come Dancing dancer James Jordan and singer and presenter Brian McFadden.
