Dancing On Ice live tour dropped for 2019 – but ‘will be back’

The Dancing On Ice live tour has been dropped for 2019, it’s been revealed.

The live arena show that accompanies the TV series will be rested for this year.

Christopher Dean has said it wasn’t the “right time” but suggested the tour may return in future.

“There won’t be a tour [this] year,” he told The Sun newspaper previously. “We feel it’s not the right time. We may have another tour next time, but not this series.”

Dan Whiston, Dancing On Ice’s Associate Creative Director and former pro skater, also expects the tour will be back.

“The tour is wonderful,” Dan said. “Without a doubt the tour will return at some stage, it’s fantastic to do.

“It’s a lovely thing to have after the TV show. There might be one on the horizon.”

The latest live Dancing On Ice show saw X Factor star and 2018 Dancing On Ice winner Jake Quickenden, Bucks Fizz legend Cheryl Baker, media personality Donna Air and rugby ace Max Evans get their skates back on.

Love Island’s Kem Cetinay, weather host Alex Beresford and two-time Dancing on Ice champion Ray Quinn joined the celebrity line-up for the live ice spectacular.

The comeback tour – which took place back in the Spring last year – also featured a special guest judge; TV and West End star Denise Van Outen, who joined the ice panel with Chris & Jayne.

This year’s Dancing On Ice series saw a brand new line up of celebs.

They included reality star Gemma Collins, actor Richard Blackwood, dancer James Jordan, Westlife singer Brian McFadden, TV personality Saira Khan, cricketer Ryan Sidebottom, Pussycat Doll Melody Thornton, Aussie actor Mark Little, soap star Jane Danson and X Factor’s Saara Aalto.

Grease legend Didi Conn, most famous for her role as Frenchie in the hit musical movie, and Love Island star Wes Nelson complete the cast.

James was crowned the winner ahead of Wes and Saara in the grand final on Sunday night.

Dancing On Ice will return for a brand new series on 2020.
