Dancing On Ice bosses have reportedly signed a back up celebrity to cover Gemma Collins.
Gemma, who rose to fame on The Only Way Is Essex, was the first name confirmed for next year’s new series.
“I’m so excited, I’m so excited! I know how hard it is, I’ve done my research, don’t worry!” The GC laughed this week.
“I’m scared and nervous. I don’t know one how they’re gonna lift me up, and two how fast I can move around that ice, but I really wanna give it a go.
“I love the costumes, I want the fun factor. I’m going for it, I’m literally going for it.”
According to The Sun, producers have booked an extra celeb in case Gemma quits.
The reality star and TV personality previously pulled out of I’m A Celeb and show bosses are apparently worried she may not make it to the ice.
“Gemma is a renowned diva and bosses aren’t taking any chances,” an insider claimed. “There is usually a standby on hand in the event of contestant injury.”
The Dancing On Ice line up was fully announced on Friday.
Grease legend Didi Conn and Love Island star Wes Nelson completed the line up.
Didi, most famous for her role as Frenchie in Grease, was announced via a message on Lorraine. Wes was announced live on BBC Radio One’s Maya Jama show.
Alongside Gemma, they join actor Richard Blackwood, dancer James Jordan, Westlife singer Brian McFadden, TV personality Saira Khan, cricketer Ryan Sidebottom, Pussycat Doll Melody Thornton, Aussie actor Mark Little, soap star Jane Danson and X Factor’s Saara Aalto.
They’ll be getting their skates and sequins on ready to compete against one another in the quest for glory, under the watchful eye of the skating legends Torvill and Dean, who head up the judging panel.
Each week the twelve celebrities will skate live with their professional partners in a bid to impress both the panel and the viewers, who will ultimately decide who wins the competition.
Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby once again return to present the series.
Dancing On Ice will start on ITV in the new year.
