Dancing On Ice replaces two pro skaters before the new series begins

Two of Dancing On Ice’s new pro dancers have been dropped before the series begins.

Megan Marschall, a 25-year-old skater from USA and Lloyd Jones, a 29-year-old performer from Wales, have left the new series for “personal reasons”.

They will be replaced by Alex Murphy and Mark Hanretty.

A spokesperson for ITV said: “Megan and Lloyd have left the show for personal reasons. They will be replaced by Alex Murphy and Mark Hanretty. None of the professional skaters begin training with their celebrity partners until next week.”

According to The Sun newspaper, Megan and Lloyd left the show due to “furious rows” between one another.

“Meg and Lloyd have a lot of history and thought they could bury the hatchet and be on the same show,” an insider told the tabloid. “But they couldn’t do that and it resulted in ugly rows backstage causing them to be hauled in by production.”

A show source added: “I think both of them thought it was just easier if they’re not having to be around each other all of the time.

“The only thing production were conscious of when they had the conversation was that it would be unfair to keep one and not the other anyway. So they both had to go.”

Dancing On Ice will start on ITV in the New Year.

Celebs on the line up include soap star Brooke Vincent, Bucks Fizz singer Cheryl Baker and Love Island contestant Kem Cetinay.

Joining them are Great British Bake Off’s Candice Brown, X Factor singer Jake Quickenden, Rugby hunk Max Evans, Cricket hero Monty Panesar and ITV Weatherman Alex Beresford.

Actress and TV presenter Donna Air, athlete Perri Shakes-Drayton, Coronation Street actor Antony Cotton and Hollyoaks star Stephanie Waring complete the Dancing On Ice 2018 cast.
