Candice Brown has reacted to her Dancing On Ice 2018 exit.
Over the first two weekends, the 12 contestants on the line up performed live for the judges.
The bottom two skaters from each Sunday night went head to head in the skate off.
It was Candice Brown and her pro partner Matt who was voted off Dancing On Ice 2018 last night after the skate off against Lemar and his pro skater Melody.
In the skate off, judges Jayne Torvill, Christopher Dean, Jason Gardiner and Ashley Banjo decided who to save after the couples skated again.
Jason and Ashley saved Candice while Jayne and head judge Chris saved Lemar. With Chris’ head judge vote, Lemar was saved and Candice went home.
Following her exit, Candice told fans on Twitter: “Thank you so much for all your support and thank you to Matt, he has taught me more than I will ever realise.”
Matt added: “I am very sad not to come into work every day with this beautiful one.”
Speaking today (Monday), Candice said of her short time on the series: “I knew the show was going to be difficult, but actually it was different to anything I’ve ever done. I come from a teaching background, I love sport, I used to teach PE, so it was hard because I could understand what was being asked but in the beginning my body just wouldn’t get it.
“That was quite frustrating but I loved the development of it. I loved when things started to work. I loved that feeling of landing a lift or when Matt had a shocked look on his face because I did something well. It exceeded any expectations I had, I loved every second of it.”
Candice says she hopes to carry on skating.
“I really hope so because I genuinely love it,” she said. “There’s not been one day where I’ve thought, ‘I don’t want to go in.’ I’d love the opportunity do the tour because it would mean skating with Matt again. ”
As for who she was backing to win, Candice said: “I think it’s wide open – Alex last night smashed it and turned into someone else.
“Kem just looks like he’s having the time of his laugh, Jake is an incredible natural skater, Cheryl is a gorgeous performer, you can’t help but smile at her and Dan. Everybody is excellent and has something different.”
Dancing On Ice 2018 continues next Sunday night on ITV.
The remaining eleven skaters will perform all together for the first time and another couple will head home.
