TV presenters Chris Kamara and Maya Jama are reportedly being lined up as contestants for Strictly Come Dancing 2018.
According to The Sun, BBC bosses think rising star Maya would help attract young viewers to the celebrity talent contest.
The 23-year-old, who is dating rapper Stormzy, is a co-host on BBC Radio 1 and ITV gameshow Cannonball.
She has also fronted coverage of the MOBO Awards and appeared as a contestant on last year’s revival of The Weakest Link.
“Maya would be a great contestant on the show,” a source commented. “She looks incredible, loves music and is already a big fan of the series.
“She’s had a busy start to the year after presenting at The Brits and landing a presenting slot at Radio One – and she doesn’t want to slow down.”
A spot on Strictly – one of TV’s most-watched shows with 10million viewers – would no doubt boost Maya’s profile further.
She is quoted as saying: “Strictly Come Dancing is amazing. I used to dance when I was younger for like a couple of years when I was about ten.”
Meanwhile, the newspaper also claims Sky Sports pundit and Ninja Warrior UK host Chris Kamara could take to the dancefloor.
Producers have apparently approached the ex-footballer after they were impressed with his moves in the recent Sport Relief ‘World In Motion’ dance-off.
Strictly will be back on our screens later this year for its sixteenth series.
Other celebs linked to the show include Union J singer Josh Cuthbert, actress Chelsea Halfpenny and Steps star Claire Richards.
Meanwhile, the professional dancers are said to be ‘on edge’ as they await news on whether they will return.
It was confirmed in January that fan favourite Brendan Cole has been dropped from the line-up after fourteen years.
