Cheryl is reportedly set to launch her music comeback on The X Factor later this year.
However there have been allegations that Cheryl faces being dropped by her label.
Cheryl’s last album Only Human was released four years ago and was her lowest charting and selling to date.
But it did spawn two hit Number 1 singles: Crazy Stupid Love and I Don’t Care.
According to The Sun, Cheryl will be putting out a new album in 2018 but apparently could leave the label if it’s not a hit.
A source claimed the rise in streaming could hurt Cheryl’s chart positions and suggested she had “left it way too long” to release new material.
Cheryl will apparently promote her new music on The X Factor later this year, where she is rumoured to be returning as a judge.
The source alleged: “The label will let her release new music to coincide with her return to The X Factor later this year but she will be dropped soon after if it is not a hit.
“She still has a small group of core fans but they will not be enough to make this new music a success.”
As well as music and The X Factor, Cheryl is also reportedly working on a new TV show for BBC One.
BGT judge Alesha Dixon, Diversity dancer Jordan Banjo and Strictly Come Dancing pro Oti Mabuse are also said to be working on the project.
And they’re joined by Broadway performer and Glee star Matthew Morrison.
The show is being tipped for Saturday nights on BBC One and currently has a working title of ‘The Greatest Dancer’.
Cheryl’s role is said to be as a mentor, while Alesha and Jordan act as hosts.
Oti and Matthew make up the ‘coaching panel on the potential series, which is made by Simon Cowell’s Syco company.
