Oti Mabuse is trying to get Cheryl signed up for Strictly Come Dancing this year.
Strictly professional Oti and singer Cheryl are pairing up for new series The Greatest Dancer.
The duo will be dance captains on the BBC One series together with Broadway and Glee star Matthew Morrison.
While Cheryl has revealed her pop dance moves before, Oti says she wants Cheryl to show off her ballroom skills on Strictly Come Dancing.
Oti told The Sun newspaper: “I would love to see her try. I think if she did Strictly, people would love her and see another side that they haven’t seen yet.
“She would be brilliant.”
The performer went on to say of working with Cheryl on set: “We’re generally getting to know each other and there’s something about her that I love.
“I feel like once she lets you in she kind of takes care of you like a sister.”
Cheryl is far from the only name being tipped for Strictly next year – even if the latest series only just finished.
TV and Radio presenter Chris Evans claims he’s agreed to take part in Strictly Come Dancing in 2019.
Chris admitted he hadn’t ‘signed on the dotted line’ just yet but had informally confirmed to producers he was willing to compete.
“I have said yes,” he said. “Everyone puts it off and tries and keep it a secret. No, announce now. We’re doing it now.”
Alan Carr has also confirmed he too has been approached to join Strictly Come Dancing for 2019.
Comedian and TV host Alan responded to claims that he was set to take to the dancefloor, saying: “They cornered me and said ‘Would you do it?’
“I would do it but listen, I hate those VTs where they’re like, ‘Hello, we’re doing salsa so we’re off to a dips factory’. Like, what?”
It was Stacey Dooley who won Strictly Come Dancing last weekend, beating out fellow finalists Ashley Roberts, Faye Tozer and Joe Sugg to the glitterball.
Before next year, you can continue to get your Strictly fix over Christmas with the latest festive special on Christmas Day, 5:30PM on BBC One.
