Charlotte Hawkins reveals her one Strictly Come Dancing regret

Charlotte Hawkins has opened up about her time on Strictly Come Dancing.

The ITV Good Morning Britain presenter appeared on last year’s series but struggled to impress the judges.

Charlotte lasted just four weeks and reckons the panel gave her a “hard ride”.

Speaking this week, Charlotte revealed: “The only thing I regret is the fact that I didn’t get further, I would’ve loved the chance to do a bit more of the Ballroom dancing because when I did the Foxtrot as my first dance, everyone really liked it and said, ‘That’s the type of dance that’s for you.'”

“I would’ve liked the opportunity to do a bit more than that,” Charlotte explained. “I would’ve loved the judges to have turned around at one point and been like ‘Yes, we really liked that dance.’

“I had a bit of a hard ride from them, I think that’s the way it goes.”

In an interview with the Daily Express, Charlotte described Strictly as “the scariest thing I have ever done” but insisted it was still an “amazing experience.”

And Charlotte says she’s still putting up with teasing from her co-host Piers Morgan – who blames her for Brendan Cole’s axe.

She said: “Every single day I think he reminds me that I bombed out of Strictly, so in his eyes that’s a definite failure and he’s not going to let me forget it.

“In fact he says it was me who ended Brendan’s Strictly career as well, I think he’s blaming my dancing for that.”

Strictly will return to BBC One in the autumn.
