Charlotte Hawkins has dismissed Strictly Come Dancing’s so-called ‘curse’.
The Good Morning Britain presenter says her nine-year marriage isn’t at risk from Strictly’s supposed ‘curse’ on relationships.
Charlotte told HELLO magazine: “One of the things I get asked about most is the ‘curse of Strictly’, but it’s not an issue as we’re very happily married.”
Her husband Mark echoed Charlotte’s comments and said of Charlotte and her pro partner Brendan Cole: “It’s really important they get on – there needs to be quite a bit of chemistry there for their dancing to be good.
“Brendan is a really nice bloke – I’m very happy with him as a choice.”
Charlotte and Brendan made a mid-table debut on Strictly last Saturday night, scoring 22 points for their Foxtrot to end up ranked 7th of the 15 celebs.
It was perhaps a better result than Charlotte expected after struggling in training.
Before the first live show, Charlotte admitted: “I can’t stop laughing. You have to look deep into your partner’s eyes. It’s the weirdest thing because who does that with a stranger in everyday life?
“My default is to start giggling. It’s like being at the school dance and being mortified when you come face to face with a boy. I hope I can get over that.”
Speaking to the Daily Mail’s Weekend Magazine, Charlotte went on: “I’m thrilled to be partnered with Brendan though. He’s a brilliant dancer and he’s been on Strictly from the start, so I’m in safe hands.”
Strictly returns this Saturday and Sunday night on BBC One with the second live show.
Charlotte and Brendan will be dancing the Cha Cha to Sugar by Maroon 5.
Strictly Come Dancing 2017 airs tonight at 6:45PM on BBC One.
The results air tomorrow (Sunday night) from 7:15PM.
