Celebs Go Dating’s Chelsee Healey hits back at online trolls after series finale

Celebs Go Dating star Chelsee Healey has hit back after being trolled online over the series.

Chelsee was one of seven single celebs on this year’s series, which concluded last night on E4.

Over four weeks, they went on numerous dates on the hunt for their perfect match.

But Chelsee found herself under attack from some viewers, who accused her of being ‘rude’ and ‘arrogant’ on her dates.

And others even claimed she was a bad mum to her daughter.

“Of the upsetting things I’ve read, the stuff that really gets to me is when they bring my baby into it,” Chelsee told The Sun newspaper following the finale.

“You can say whatever you want about me, but don’t bring my daughter into it,” the actress said of the “nasty comments” she had received. “I know I’m a good mum. I’d never teach her to have bad manners, because that’s not me either.

“I’m not nasty. I’d never treat someone how I wouldn’t want to be treated, I’ve not been brought up like that. I’d bring my daughter up with the same values.”

Chelsee, who previously took part in Strictly Come Dancing, added: “Before Celebs Go Dating came on, I said I’d never be effected by anyone else’s opinions. But the backlash I’ve got has proved that wrong. I thought I was thicker-skinned.”

But despite the online comments, she insisted she was “glad” to have got back in the dating game.

Other celebs on the cast of Celebs Go Dating 2019 included reality star Megan McKenna, popstar and Jungle Queen Kerry Katona, and Love Island’s very loyal contestant, Georgia Steel.

Joining the girls were four single guys, The Only Way is Essex’s Pete Wicks, Ibiza Weekender head rep David Potts, Love Island’s Jack Fowler and Made in Chelsea’s recently single Sam Thompson.

The series aired Sunday-Thursday at 9PM on E4 over the course of four weeks.
